Equine Trauma Groups

This group can accommodate up to 8 women or teen girls recovering from trauma. Each week a different theme is explored with a focus on PTSD education & recovery using the relationship with a horse as the central tenant to the program. The goals of the group are to assist in processing feelings about topics surrounding trauma, to support one another, & learn skills in the process.

Emotion Exploration Group

The group focus is psycho-education on what emotions are, how they show up, and skills to self- & co- regulate. We do a lot of activities to help teach about the emotions and connect what they are learning to their own experiences. This is an in-person group at our office located in Sherwood.

Family Communication

The first 5 weeks are spent with the kids discussing different aspects of their lives they struggle to communicate about with their parents. They learn communication skills, boundaries, regulation skills, & how their emotions impact how effectively they do those things. The next 5 weeks are spent with the parents preparing them to work on collaborative communication with their kids around those topics. In the last 2 weeks, kids & parents come together & spend time utilizing those skills in real-time to create a more cooperative & healthy family dynamic.
