Hello and welcome!
I have been a therapist for 15 + years now with a lot of life experience to go with that. I love helping my clients have "lightbulb moments" and navigate the tough seasons of life that all of us experience. Some of my favorite work is with relationship issues (partner, adolescents, aging parents, friends); anxiety and depression; grief and loss; death and dying; family estrangement (religious, political, etc.); people who are questioning their sexuality and gender, and religious deconstruction.
My qualities as a therapist: being fully present, engaged listener, warm, encouraging, direct, and no bullshit or judgments! As a "Recovering Southern Baptist," I have great empathy and understanding for those having doubts about their faith or those who are beginning their deconstruction journey.
One of my favorite quotes is by Ram Dass: "We're all just walking each other home." My counseling practice is built on non-judgment, inclusive/affirming for all people, and creating a safe and warm environment for my clients.
