About
I am an African American/Black woman. I believe that representation matters in mental health services, especially as stigmas around mental health are being addressed as Black people/people of color are seeking therapy more often in today’s society. I am an Associate Clinical Social Work and received my Master of Social Work degree from Simmons University. My goal when working with my clients is to help you (the client and/or your family) learn how to better manage the symptoms and behaviors you experience while developing and maintaining positive coping skills. I am passionate about helping young women and young adults.
I have practiced as a clinical therapist in a school-based setting for grades k-12th as well as transitional age youth (ages 16-24 yo) since 2016. I have worked with children in different roles over the past 14 years, as my undergraduate degree is in child, adolescent, and family studies. I have also worked with parents for family sessions and personally.
Feel free to give me a call for a free 15 minute phone consultation. During that time I can answer any questions you may have and you can choose to set up a future appointment with me as well. This is an opportunity to see if I may be a good fit for your needs. It is important that you feel comfortable with me.
