I am Asenath Devaney, a Licensed Psychologist specializing in therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. With over 20 years of experience providing individual, group, and family therapy, I’ve worked across a variety of mental health settings, including psychosocial rehabilitation, residential treatment centers, and school-based therapy. I earned my Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology and Theater from Wheaton College, my Educational Specialist (Ed.S) in School Psychology from Florida International University, and my Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in School Psychology from North Carolina State University.
My current focus is on helping individuals enhance their communication and develop skills to manage differences and overcome challenges. As an adoptive parent and a strong ally of the LGBTQ community, I am passionate about providing inclusive and empathetic care. While I provide counseling and talk therapy services, I do not currently offer psych test.
I work with clients to create personalized treatment plans that meet their specific needs, utilizing a variety of cognitive-behavioral therapies such as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT), mindfulness, and mentalization, alongside person-centered counseling.
