I approach therapy as an active and collaborative process that supports you to connect with your desires. Together, we untangle social and emotional knots: conflicts that take form in your relationships and within yourself. We ask honest questions and pay attention to the connections between what is personally felt and collectively shared. Over time, we attend to the roots of struggles to bring about meaningful change. I work with adults both individually and in couples and relationships.
With children and teens, I practice play and talk therapy to build understanding of deep worries and struggles and to find new forms for expression and connection. When appropriate, I meet with caregivers on a regular basis. I have experience working with loss, acculturation, school and peer group dynamics, gender and sexuality related struggles, and autism.
My practice is guided by deep respect for all the parts of your experience, including those that are difficult to put into words or categories. I am sensitive to the ways that race, power, and violence shape our lives and language.
