About
I have over 25 years experience working with individuals and couples on a wide variety of life challenges and productively moving forward in their lives. My approach is supportive and empathic in helping clients recognize their own needs and strengths, and feel more optimistic about their future. I work to help people develop greater trust in themselves and others, and in doing so achieve greater self-confidence and healthy self-assertion. Over the years I have seen considerable benefit in focusing on what is felt within the therapeutic relationship as a valuable source of understanding and discovering possibilities for change.
I have a Ph.D in clinical psychology from Columbia University where I been an Adjunct Professor for many years. I have a certificate in psychoanalysis from New York University Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. I have taught at Pace University and at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies.
While therapy can be in-depth and intense, I also focus on immediate challenges. Feeling carefully listened to and understood by a trustworthy therapist is crucial to navigation this process. I have 25 years experience helping people build more trusting relationships and effectively moving their lives in their chosen directions.
