My name is Daeun (pronounced Ta-un) and I have worked closely with a number of children and adolescents, using play, sand tray, senses and art therapeutically to help work through trauma and family conflicts. I believe the purpose of counseling children is to help them empower themselves to make their own choices and have their voices be heard. I have a degree in Licensed Professional Counseling from Central Michigan University, and a bachelor's degree in psychology and child development. After graduation, I found my passion helping children and parents navigate challenges in grief and trauma. I have found that allowing children to be who they are during sessions, allows them to feel safe and secure to express their true emotions.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and life coach practicing in Elk Rapids, MI. I was previously practicing in Bloomfield Hills Mi for 6 years before moving to the Traverse City area in 2019. I have experience as an Infant Mental Health Specialist, Child and Adolescent Therapist and Family Therapist. I received my BA from University of Arkansas in Social Work and Criminal Justice and a MSW from University of Michigan in Therapeutic Practice and Community Organizing. I enjoy working with all individuals to process and explore the concerns that may prohibit them from reaching their potential and living life to its fullest.

Kari is now accepting children ages 6+ for in-person therapy and 15+ for telehealth or in-person. Kari believes that people are innately driven to achieve wholeness.
