My direct natured support is provided via integrative and unique approaches such as art, horticulture, and exercise therapy.
I firmly believe finding the right therapist is crucial in a successful journey to better mental health and wellness. A dynamic therapeutic relationship is one of the most influential factors for successful transformations. I know the process of finding a good match can be cumbersome and frequently prevents folks from seeking help they desperately need. I have been recognized for my ability to build rapport with my clients in a warm, inviting, and safe environment. This allows my clients to feel safe while being able to comfortably discuss difficult and sensitive information, while reaching their goals and finding serenity.

Through art therapy & growth oriented counseling I have helped children, teens, & adults through a myriad of concerns such as life transitions, mood troubles, address difficult past experiences, & improving communication.
You have the ability to grow & live life joyfully. By seeking out a good match for a therapist you’ve already shown you’ve got what it takes to move toward implementing change in your life. In therapy with me you will identify interference to living a life that brings joy. You will develop self awareness, learn helpful behaviour, boundaries, thoughts, skills, & creatively define healthy actions to obtain your goals. It is possible to gain traction when you feel stuck & at a loss for what to do differently. Difficulty doesn’t have to define who you are. You can find relief & a path forward.

I have a strong passion for Art and Creativity.
ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS & LATE EVENING APPT AVAIL. I view life as a collection of experiences that fit together like pieces of a puzzle. From birth to old age, we continually add new pieces to our identity and that collection is what makes us Us. Some of the experiences we encounter in life can affect certain pieces of our identity in a negative way. Whether it is anxiety, trauma, broken trust, lack of communication, there are methods we can explore together to heal the broken pieces and complete the picture so you may live a complete and fulfilled life.

Art Therapy

How does art therapy work?

The process of making art allows people to express themselves. Art-making can take many forms, such as painting, collage, or sculpting. The therapist asks questions that the work elicits, such as how the person felt while creating their piece, or if any memories surfaced that they can discuss. The therapist will then work with the patient to process their experience, understand themselves better, and work toward change.

Does art therapy help with trauma?

Art therapy can be a valuable treatment option for those suffering from trauma. Traumatic experiences such as combat, rape, or childhood abuse can be so painful that articulating them can be too scary or painful; creating art allows people to express themselves without words, and tell their story in a different way. The physical nature of creating art can also help people feel rooted in the body, which may benefit those who feel disconnected from their body in the aftermath of trauma.

How long does art therapy last?

The duration of art therapy varies, but a common length for treatment is 10 to 15 weekly sessions. Some people may see improvement in just a few weeks, while others may choose to remain in therapy longer term. Patients should periodically discuss their goals with their therapist to make sure the two are aligned on process and progress.

What are the limitations of art therapy?

Art therapy is helpful for many people, but a limitation is that it doesn’t have as robust an evidence base as other forms of therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy or acceptance and commitment therapy. The evidence on art therapy is mixed; some research demonstrates its benefits, while other research suggests that it has little impact on patients.
