Too often, people start therapy w/out really knowing how it's supposed to help them. Too often, therapists passively listen without providing the essential skills & insights to help them get better. This can lead to a lot of time and money being spent w/out seeing much improvement. That is why my practice has a transparent and teamwork driven approach. In the 1st 1-3 sessions we go over why you started therapy and then collaborate on a treatment plan that is customized to your specific goals. Over the course of treatment we review progress and make modifications accordingly.

People ask me why my practice is called "This Moment: Become Your Own Therapist." It's based on the notion that almost everyone has the innate ability to work through challenges in their lives, and sometimes it takes therapy to figure out how. Part of that involves learning similar skills that therapists use to help both themselves and their clients.

The emphasis on 'This Moment' stems from the realization that life is experienced in the present. The past has passed, and the future is yet to come. The power to make meaningful changes lies in our actions in the present moment.
