I enjoy working with adults who are interested in becoming more conscious. We all have reactions to things but there are some reactions or triggers that cause emotional pain. These triggers are usually a leftover piece of unprocessed pain. Unless they are understood and healed, they'll keep coming up. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated and curious about this process. The result is more peace of mind and a more fulfilling relationship with oneself and others.
My specialties include the treatment of depression, anxiety disorders, sexuality issues, and phase of life transitions. I also work with couples; heterosexual and lesbian. I am certified in EMDR; eye movement desensitization reprocessing which is a modality used to work through post traumatic stress disorder and other types of trauma.
I have been a client in therapy which I believe to be an important prerequisite to understanding the experience in the client/therapist relationship. If I haven't healed some of my own wounds and increased self awareness, how can I truly be there for my client?
