Art therapy involves connecting the body, mind and spirit. I believe that we all have the innate ability to heal. We have a safe environment to process, allowing for increased insight, removing roadblocks to growth, and reframing perceptions. In therapy, I emphasize the use of art, movement and mindfulness in a collaborative therapeutic relationship. Art therapy gives an opportunity to facilitate integration that can lead to a new state of embodiment and awareness, resulting in an improved quality of life.
My approach to art therapy starts with a safe space, meeting clients where they are. I focus on tangible art interventions that are outcome-oriented. This helps clients externalize their feelings, improve their self-regulation, explore relationship patterns and boundaries. We utilize guided drawing and practice mindfulness to facilitate healing.
