About
If you are struggling in life, chances are you have a diagnosis which is termed a psychiatric disorder- but diagnoses only define the negative aspects of who you are! In fact, most "disorders" have a wealth of amazingly positive traits also associated with them. Together, you and I will work to uncover your superpowers- those positive traits that diagnoses don't cover, and which make you amazing. Some of the therapies we incorporate into our practice include art therapy, play therapy, guided visualizations and rituals, narrative therapy, practical life skills (CBT), mindfulness (DBT) and other relaxation techniques.
We also utilize pet therapy, pop culture, board games, fiction, apps, and even video games to make the work of psychotherapy fun and engaging. The brain loves novelty, and these outside-of-the-box approaches to therapy and wholistic wellness help to facilitate change, and even to make it enjoyable!
We work with all ages, having worked in varied settings from summer camps to senior homes before coming to private practice. We specialize in working with individuals wrestling with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, existential exploration, grief, workplace politics, and teen angst, eating disorders, substance abuse, and identity issues.
