I am committed to the optimal development and functioning of individuals through an increased understanding of themselves and others. I have a sincere appreciation for the strengths and uniqueness of the people I work with, as well as an appreciation for cultural diversity. The therapeutic relationship is an experience that promotes an increased propensity toward self-awareness and change in behavior, allowing the individual to discard maladaptive behaviors that no longer serve them. My goal is to provide an environment of empathy, genuineness and respect where profound issues can be examined and transformation can occur.
My approach to client treatment considers the various contexts in which a client develops and operates. I believe that self-exploration and personal reflection are essential components of personal healing and development. For clients who seek to incorporate faith into their process of growth and healing, I offer an integrated approach.
I have a diverse background, including academia, private practice, a supervisor to doctorate level students & unlicensed therapists, the military, and community clinics. For 12 yrs. I taught doctorate level courses at Biola University, including Marriage & Family Therapy, Child & Adolescent Therapy, Multicultural Issues, Group Therapy, and Family Pathology.
