I am a licensed psychologist with 20+ years of experience. Much of my work has focused on the interconnectedness of mind and body in health and healing. I have worked with individuals overcoming personal struggles in their lives and relationships. In addition, I have a subspecialty in health psychology and have worked with individuals living with chronic diseases such as diabetes. Early in my career, I conducted and published research in diabetes and obesity and served on the faculty at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in NY.
Thematic to my work is an intrinsic understanding that mind, body, health, spirituality, culture, and one's belief system serve as critical components to health and well-being. Communication and openness are integral parts of the work. I am trained in psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approaches.
Over the years, I have appreciated how difficult it can be to speak to someone about personal struggles especially if it's the first time. With the right therapeutic relationship, it can be transformative and you can begin to learn about yourself and make connections that change the way you think about your life. Best of luck to you on your journey.
