Hello and welcome! My area of focus is providing culturally competent counseling to individuals of varying mental health difficulties. I work with clients with various presenting issues, including anxiety and depression, OCD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, and addictions. In addition to being a licensed therapist, I am completing my PhD in counseling. My intersectional identities as an Arab-Asian woman from a Muslim background allows me to experience understanding and empathy for those from varying backgrounds and identities.

I work best with an individual who may experience self-doubt, low self-esteem, unreasonable fears, depression, stress, and anxiety that sometimes may accompany serious illnesses. I also work with people who are grieving a significant loss, experiencing adjustment disorders because of a life changing event, addicted to alcohol or drugs, involved in a failing marriage, challenged by raising a family, or experiencing a professional burnout. I help you to focus on how unused potential, or being consumed by negative thoughts, can lead to missed opportunities. I will guide you to develop coping skills that will eventually lead to better outcomes in the future.

My passion for counseling stems from my cultural background, I’ve witnessed and experienced first hand how difficult it can be to seek mental health help within a minority community. As a first generation Palestinian-American, I realized that counseling and taking care of your mental health was such a foreign topic. It was after my realization that I wanted to dedicate myself to making mental health care more accessible to those in minority communities, because everyone deserves quality mental health care.
