It feels strange feeling lonely in a house full of people. Expectations can feel heavy when you're not sure where you fit in all of it. You're often left feeling drained without the ability to replenish your needs during hectic schedules and a home that needs your attention. But here you are- showing up for yourself and looking for answers. Let’s give you the space to slow down and be present so you can feel available again.

I still have a strong passion for working with
children
and teens, and childhood hurt, regardless of what age an individual is ready to start processing that hurt.
In a world where we often have to shrink to fit in or hide parts of ourself that make others uncomfortable, my hope is to provide the safe space you need to be your true, authentic self. Being open about your life can be a very scary thing, but I believe there is beauty in being vulnerable and that true healing comes out of vulnerability and connection. The good news is, you do not have to walk through that discomfort alone. Regardless of what brings you to therapy, I hope that we are able to create a sense of peace through our work together.

I am a caring counselor with 15 years of experience working with
children
of all ages and backgrounds. I have helped kids through life changes such as their parents’ divorce or the loss of a loved one, all types of anxiety, and behavioral concerns such as anger management and ADHD. Treating the
child
with respect and dignity and meeting them where they are are the heart of my practice. I use play, bibliotherapy, and expressive arts to connect with your
child
, help them share their thoughts and feelings, and explore coping skills that work for them. Take that first step on behalf of your
child
. Call and set up an appointment with me.

Brené Brown once said, “We don’t have to do it alone, we were never meant to.” If you are to find yourself, your family, or your
child
struggling, the best thing you can do is seek out someone to listen and empathize with your situation. I have years of experience working in the mental health field. I primarily draw from Humanistic and Adlerian schools of psychology. I believe the foundation of your healing journey is a strong client-therapist relationship built on authenticity, empathy, and trust. I have experience working with: anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-harm, trauma, disruptive behaviors, and parent/
child
relational issues.

Are you struggling with feelings of inadequacy & shame? Are you doing your best each day but longing for fulfilment and peace that seem beyond your reach? Have you felt that there is something holding you back? Maybe you are an individual who has struggled for years to let go of something from your past- event(s) or negative beliefs. Maybe you are a parent of a
child
or
children
who you do not feel connected to or able to effectively communicate with. If you are a parent, has parenting turned into something that seems like a daily battle with someone you barely know? If any of this resonates with you, I’d love to help!

Child Therapists
Do I need to attend therapy with my child?
Parents are an integral part of a child’s therapy, but the specifics of their involvement vary. If your child is young, you may attend most or all sessions; if your child is older, you may attend a few sessions or none; sometimes a therapist may ask you to have a session on your own. Whatever the arrangement, you should expect to work collaboratively with the therapist, your child, and your family members to take steps to help support your child.
How long are sessions with child therapists?
Children’s therapy sessions can last 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 60 minutes. The length of the session may depend on your child’s age and the type of therapy practiced. You can discuss this with therapists you consult and the one you ultimately move forward with.
How do I get a child to agree to seek therapy?
The best approach is to have an open-ended conversation with your child about how they’re doing and what they might be struggling with. When you raise therapy, discuss the concept in an age-appropriate way, for example explaining that a therapist’s job is to help kids handle their hard or uncomfortable feelings. Frame therapy positively, as an opportunity to explore and build emotional skills—it’s an important tool in the toolbox to help kids feel their best.
How can I tell if a therapist is a good fit for my child?
A child needs to feel comfortable opening up about their thoughts and feelings, so if your child feels a sense of comfort, ease, and trust with their therapist, that’s a great sign. In addition, a therapist is a good fit for your child if the two can communicate well together; a clinician should be able to communicate clearly, effectively, and in an age-appropriate manner.
