Life can feel overwhelming. Past experiences can shape our present view of life, thoughts, and behaviors as well as impact the future. Trauma is not a theirs is worse than mine experience, we each experience and react like the amazingly unique beings we are. Feelings like shame, guilt, embarrassment are just a few of the residual emotions left by traumatic experiences. Those can create an unhealthy view of ourselves and can lead to a decline in mental health. Overcoming negative life experiences can be similar to opening the curtains making the dark disappear and letting the light back in our lives.

I'm a LPC with more than twenty years experience. I am an open minded therapist and have worked with a broad spectrum of clients, down through the years. I, primarily, use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which seeks to examine and foster awareness of mental processes that tend to reinforce negative patterns of behavior. I believe that many of these erroneous coognitive distortions are housed in the subcontious mind and took root, during the childhood. I don't believe in endlessly pillaging through the debris of the childhood. I believe in going far enough to get an overview of what happened, processing these issues, and moving on.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally drained, you’re not alone. Many people come to therapy feeling anxious, depressed, angry, grieving, or impacted by past trauma. You don’t need to have everything figured out to start—therapy is a supportive space to talk openly and better understand yourself. I work with individuals seeking healthier coping skills and more control over emotions and behaviors. I have experience supporting substance use and recovery, as well as working with children and families on emotional regulation, impulse control, and creating consistency at home.
