As we move through life we tell ourselves stories. Stories about who we are and who we think we “should” be; where we come from and where we want to go. Stories about our relationships and our place in this world. As a therapist, my goal is to help you tell your story, to look at it from different perspectives, and change it as you see fit. I take a systems-based approach, acknowledging the importance of how you are impacted by the familial, societal, economic, and political systems your story takes place in. Our mental health does not exist in a vacuum, and how these systems interact play an important role.

My ideal client: someone who wants to get better. We all experience tumultuous emotions, cope with life circumstances that leave us feeling like we aren't ourselves, as we figure out ways to "just get by". Emotions help us understand ourselves, sometimes we just need space to talk and listen. Maybe you are not sure how to feel better, maybe you are not ready to feel better, and maybe cannot even imagine how to feel better. That's okay. Most often I help those who want help navigating emotional experiences, or feel as if they are not in control of their emotions.

My primary experience is in working with individuals and couples to heal relationship wounds, recover from trauma, and find new ways to interact with life’s most stubborn issues. My ideal clients probably have really tough problems, and they may be hurting very deeply, but they are also ready to try on new thoughts and behaviors to find healing and their "new normal." I work with those suffering from PTSD symptoms, severe anxiety and/or depression, as well as individuals and couples in affair recovery, blended family situations, and those going through major life changes.

Spicy? Artsy? Neurodivergent? Hypermobile? Me too. Those on the fringe are my favorite kinds of people. Your emotions are intense. You see the best and worst in life. It can get hard though; the anxiety, rage, and sadness hurt. You get impulsive - say and do things you regret. You can be a hot mess. The emotional roller coaster is exhausting - you've been riding it all your life and want off. Familiar? The good news is it's gonna be ok. You're not "crazy". You don't have to live in misery. If you think you might have Borderline Personality Disorder, or are just a highly sensitive person, Dialectical Behavior Therapy can help.

I provide person-centered therapy and Internal Family Systems therapy as I work with teens, adults, and families, living the IFS model both personally and professionally.
Has life given you lemons but forgot to include the recipe for lemonade? Are you suffering in silence watching your life instead of living it? Are you struggling with legacy burdens or childhood experiences that you've never healed and it's having a negative impact on your life? I am a client-centered therapist who believes in sitting with clients right where they are as we work together to determine where they want to be. I welcome all who seek healing into the therapy room space, and my heart expressly leaps for women navigating their life's journey. Remember, "Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional." Sometimes looking in the mirror is hard when the image looking back at you is not what you pictured. Our past hurts and traumas, broken relationships, unhealthy relationship with food, and painful relationship with our bodies leave us broken and weary. I believe that digging into those painful places brings healing, as well as learning how to move into the present. I use primarily a parts work or internal family systems approach, which is an effective model for trauma, eating disorders, anxiety, and many other areas where deep work is needed.

Good therapy requires more than a counselor functioning as a sounding board; it requires a large tool set! My trainings include: Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT); helping partners of sexual betrayal navigate recovery, Brainspotting, EMDR, Somatic-and-Attachment-Focused EMDR, Family Systems Trauma (FST), Trauma Focused-CBT, and CPT.
More bio info on my website....I served 8 years in the U.S. Marine Corps. before finding my new calling and love; therapy. We are not meant to do life alone, and times of struggle can be painful illustrations of that. By the time you decide to seek out therapy, you have likely been white-knuckling the steering wheel of life for some time, adapting in the only ways you know. When you walk into my office, please know the courage it took to get here is not lost on me.

Are there things you just can’t share with family? Are you unable to share with those you respect most? Are simply tired of carrying “it”? Is it destroying your marriage or family? Have you noticed sudden issues with health causing a decline? Do you feel guilty about having feelings that maybe considered inappropriate? I understand how heavy the weight can feel under the pressure to carry this painful “thing.” And it is possible to have valid feelings around an unforeseen life event such as feelings about caring for a loved one who maybe sick or unwell.

As a practicing clinician for 15 years, most of my work is with children/adolescents – ages 3-17 years - specializing in anxiety, ADHD, Autism spectrum, adjustment challenges, & trauma issues. I have experience with children in all care levels of need: school-based to outpatient to residential environments. My theoretical approach is Adlerian and underpins all my specific intervention treatment practices I employ. I have recently expanded my practice into ADHD Coaching services. Currently, I am a Coach with ADHD ReWired's online Adult group immersive 10-week coaching program. I offer individual ADHD coaching in my practice as well.
