We can all heal and grow! Much of the time our growth is catalyzed by pain. We experience a loss or a significant stressor. We come up against trauma or blocks from our past. These periods of chaos and pain can also contain valuable resources. We can use them to create a life that makes us happier. We can become healthier people with better relationships. I use compassion and my 30+ years of experience with the latest methods to help you feel better, become more personally empowered and realize your goals. My focus is relief and solution oriented.

Life can be hard; there are times when we all need a little help with past traumas, life’s problems and challenges. Taking the step to see a therapist can be like opening a new door. I have a deep respect for the individual human spirit and a true belief in the therapeutic relationship as a means of creating change. I simply want to help anyone who wants to be helped.

I often use a mix of techniques that include Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Internal Family Systems Therapy.
Many people spend years appearing strong while quietly carrying burdens they rarely discuss with anyone. On the outside, life may look successful. On the inside, anxiety, loneliness, grief, unhealthy patterns, or major life transitions can leave you feeling exhausted and stuck. Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what's happening beneath the surface, and move toward meaningful change. Together, we'll work to help you develop greater self-awareness, deeper connections, and the ability to live with more peace, purpose, and self-respect.

You may be navigating grief, identity loss, or simply trying to hold yourself together while everything around you feels uncertain. My ideal clients are women and teens who carry unspoken pain, emotional exhaustion, or pressure to keep going when they really need space to pause and feel. They want to feel seen, validated, and supported as they work through their story—and they’re ready to begin healing in a space that honors who they are and what they’ve been through.

In this season of my 61st year; I am primarily focused on working in a role geared toward adults. Ranging from 18+. Along with my family time, working in a capacity that exemplifies service with humanity is most fulfilling to me. It has been an honor across the years to sit with people of all stations and situations of life; hear their stories, cry with them, laugh with them, and sometimes, sit quietly with them. I am not the healer, nor do I possess all life's solutions. But, I often am able to assist in bringing clarity to circumstances and guidance depending on subject at hand, in viewing some issues through a less cloudy lens.

Life transitions can feel destabilizing, especially when familiar roles, routines, or expectations begin to shift. Whether you are navigating changes in family dynamics, career direction, identity, or relationships, it can be hard to know how to move forward while staying grounded in who you are. You may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure how to rebuild confidence during a season that feels uncertain. Many people reach out during moments of conflict, loss of motivation, or self-doubt.

I enjoy working with clients who are engaged and motivated.

Emotionally Focused Therapists
Who is emotionally focused therapy for?
Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.

Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?
People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.

What happens in emotionally focused therapy?
Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.

What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?
EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
