I want to start by saying that I truly hold a solid belief that each and every human deserves to feel happiness, love, excitement, contentment, and ultimately to achieve their dreams, desires, goals, and best-selves! I implement an integrative approach, with a craving to help. Whether that assistance be with an individual navigating ADHD, a person learning to cope with anxiety/depression, a couple for growth & change, entire family in need, I am devoted to seeking out and destroying the obstacles, strongholds, cognitive distortions, or whatever the “problem” is that is impeding their ability to live happy, healthy, fulfilled lives.

Life is difficult at times, and it can feel more of a burden than a load. When you feel overwhelmed, support through understanding and solution seeking can be helpful. While it often feels safer to be tentative and retreat, finding someone safe to help address and resolve issues can be more beneficial for growth in successful living.

I use a person-centered, attachment-oriented approach in my practice. I prioritize developing a therapeutic alliance with my clients as I regard this to be one of the most important factors in client growth and success. I am a firm believer that therapy is not only for “broken” or “sick” people and that everyone can benefit from a safe, confidential space to process emotions, grow in self-awareness, and receive feedback as they navigate life’s challenges. Whatever it is, you don't have to go through it alone. I provide affirming therapy to LGBTQIA+ people and desire my office to be a place of safety and authenticity for them.

I work with adults, students, women, social workers, therapists and future therapists who describe themselves as driven, growth-oriented, hard-working and ambitious. They may find themselves struggling with anxiety, a harsh inner critic, or aspects of burn out. I can help folks build tolerance to stress and resilience to emotions, so they can experience more clarity and a greater peace of mind. I also work with women seeking support for holistic health gains and female-related issues. Lastly, clients come to me seeking a boost in relational matters of their family or close relationships.

Psychosis Therapists
What’s the most effective treatment for psychosis?
The most effective treatment for psychosis is coordinated specialty care. In this model, a team of professionals works with a patient to address all aspects of the underlying disorder. This approach incorporates individual or group therapy, employment and education support, family support and education, medication management (which often involves low doses of antipsychotics), and case management to facilitate problem-solving as needed.

When should people seek treatment for psychosis?
People should seek immediate treatment at the earliest indication of psychosis. Symptoms include delusions, hallucinations, disorganized or blocked speech, and agitated body movements. Early signs that a person may be developing a disorder that will lead to psychosis include suspiciousness of others, memory problems and distractibility, an inability to think clearly, rapid or nonsensical speech, withdrawal from friends or family, aggression toward others, and sensitivity to bright lights or noises.

What if psychosis is left untreated?
Without treatment, psychosis can have significant repercussions, including injuries, job loss, homelessness, financial or legal trouble, ruptured relationships, and suffering for the person and their family. While early treatment for psychosis often yields the best results, there is no point past which it becomes useless to seek treatment. At any point, treatment can make a difference.

How do I get someone else to seek treatment for psychosis?
It’s extremely difficult to watch a loved one suffer from hallucinations, delusions, and other elements of psychosis—sometimes exacerbated by their fears of treatment. Have a conversation with them in a quiet space and maintain a calm, supportive tone. Share your concerns about behaviors you’ve observed, suggest treatment, and explain the potential benefits. Listen carefully to their responses. The person may not be ready after one conversation, but with time, they may come around.
