I want to start by saying that I truly hold a solid belief that each and every human deserves to feel happiness, love, excitement, contentment, and ultimately to achieve their dreams, desires, goals, and best-selves! I implement an integrative approach, with a craving to help. Whether that assistance be with an individual navigating ADHD, a person learning to cope with anxiety/depression, a couple for growth & change, entire family in need, I am devoted to seeking out and destroying the obstacles, strongholds, cognitive distortions, or whatever the “problem” is that is impeding their ability to live happy, healthy, fulfilled lives.

Hi! I am Stephanie, I can't wait to meet you to see if I am a good fit for you. If you're trying to picture a stereotypical therapist; throw it out the window. That isn't me. You are seeking help, I want to provide every resource possible to get you to a good place. During our initial visit, we will work together to identify what you want to get out of us working together. My goal is to build rapport with you to illustrate (what may be your first) healthy exchange between two people with clear boundaries (from the first hello to our final goodbye). I will provide tools for you to carry with you the rest of your life.

I help clients find a greater sense of themselves by helping them to become more aware of their own human nature. I aim to empower clients to become clear about their goals and how to achieve them. Clients can hope to gain greater understanding and respect for their own inner ability to find resolution. In counseling, people feel supported while working through real and perceived barriers at their own pace. I believe each of us has the wisdom we seek within ourselves; the key is to access that wisdom and to believe in it.

Hi, I’m Hannah. I know there are a lot of therapists on this website, and figuring out who’s the right fit can feel overwhelming. If you’re here, you’re probably carrying a lot—and maybe you’ve been carrying it for longer than you’d like to admit. You don’t have to do it alone. Whether you’re working through past trauma, navigating a faith transition, or feeling the weight of a demanding career, I’m here to support you. I’ve worked with a wide range of individuals and understand the complexities that come with different life experiences.

I have over 24 years of counseling experience. Good therapy is non-judging, non-shaming, and involves healthy personal growth with enhanced life quality. In addition to working at agencies/facilities I have also had private practices in Texas, Georgia, and Nevada. Although I have traveled a lot in the past, my forever home and practice will remain in Fayetteville. I am a bi/pan cis woman and pronouns are she/her/hers. I enjoy working with law students and lawyers with the JLAP program and love working with other clinicians.

Psychoanalytic Therapists

Does psychoanalytic therapy work?

Psychoanalytic therapy derives from the work of Sigmund Freud. In this type of therapy, discovering buried thoughts and emotions from the unconscious will help a person work through their difficulties and negative behaviors. Research shows that psychoanalytic therapy can be highly effective, with patients reporting improvement in mood, quality of life, and overall well-being.

How long are people typically in psychoanalytic therapy?

Traditional psychoanalysis is in-depth and is conducted in five sessions every week. Today, modern psychoanalytic therapy is less intense and normally incorporates as few as one or two sessions a week. In some cases, positive change can occur quickly. However, if the condition, difficulty, or behavior is deep-seated, improvement may require many months or years of therapy.

Is psychoanalytic therapy suitable for young people?

Children and adolescents can benefit from this type of therapy. Many kids and teens are often unable to form and communicate their thoughts and emotions. Psychoanalytic therapy uses specific techniques such as dream analysis, symbolism, and free association or word association; all of which can be useful tools for less-communicative young people. Through this therapy, a patient will hopefully make connections between what they feel inside and how the world works outside.

Can psychoanalytic therapy be done online?

Modern-day psychoanalytic therapy is very different from traditional psychoanalysis. While an individual can sit face-to-face with the psychoanalyst for multiple sessions a week, they do not have to. Today, psychoanalytic therapy can be effectively conducted online or by phone. The key is that the individual confronts what is repressed and avoided, and this can be done whether in person or over online video.
