I want to start by saying that I truly hold a solid belief that each and every human deserves to feel happiness, love, excitement, contentment, and ultimately to achieve their dreams, desires, goals, and best-selves! I implement an integrative approach, with a craving to help. Whether that assistance be with an individual navigating ADHD, a person learning to cope with anxiety/depression, a couple for growth & change, entire family in need, I am devoted to seeking out and destroying the obstacles, strongholds, cognitive distortions, or whatever the “problem” is that is impeding their ability to live happy, healthy, fulfilled lives.

ADHD, OCD, addiction, and grief are just a few sources of anxiety that can get in the way.
From the beginning of my counseling career, I have intentionally trained in areas that I see plague young people, and eating disorders is one of them. I have much experience walking with those who suffer from eating disorders, and regularly treat teens and adults who experience related challenges.

I specialize in helping those struggle with issues related to OCD, trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, life adjustments, specific LGBTQIA+ issues, and relationship challenges.
Building a secure therapeutic relationship is crucial to the process. It is important to me to bring genuine curiosity, warmth, humor, and authenticity into my sessions. Coming from a social work background, I also have a deep understanding of how systems impact each of us uniquely. It is my goal to honor these circumstances using a systemic perspective.

Treatment for OCD and insomnia is a little different as I follow the gold standard treatment plans for ERP or CBT-I, while leaving space for personalization.

I'm trained in EMDR for processing trauma and ERP and I-CBT for managing OCD.
“Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.” Forrest Gump said it best–life is unpredictable. You may be struggling to maintain or repair relationships. Maybe your anxiety is at an all-time high and you’re looking for ways to manage and cope with it. Perhaps you’ve noticed the rollercoaster of obsessions and compulsions that’s kept you from living life on your terms and are ready to break free. Are you noticing that trauma from your past is preventing you from the growth and change you seek? Maybe you’re in college and struggling to adapt to the changing responsibilities placed on you.

I work with clients who also experience narcissistic abuse, OCD, PTSD, depression, anxiety, and panic attacks.
My journey to becoming a psychotherapist has been anything but straightforward. Trauma has been a constant companion in my life starting from a very young age and continuing to adulthood. This trauma has been a relentless teacher to me in big and small ways, forcing me to confront myself through my own therapy and rebuild myself from the ground up. It was during my healing journey that I discovered EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing), and dove deeply into my trauma. Inspired by my personal experience I feel passionate about helping others navigate the complexities and difficulties of their lives.

I offer teletherapy for anxiety, depression, OCD symptoms, and post-traumatic stress.
We all have emotions. They can help us, but sometimes they don't. Sometimes we get stuck and stop doing the things we love. Sometimes we run away, losing the chance to see how strong we can be. Sometimes we turn on our emotions, pushing them away because they hurt. If you want a different relationship with your emotions, if you want to move through being stuck, afraid, and avoidant, I would love to work with you.

Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD) Therapists

How long does OCD treatment take?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is often treated on a weekly or twice-weekly schedule, depending on symptom severity and the client’s preferences. Some clients may start to see a noticeable improvement in symptoms in as little as six weeks, but it’s also possible, especially in more severe cases, for treatment to take several months to a year before significant progress is made.

What happens if OCD is not treated?

Some people with OCD, especially those with mild symptoms, may find that they are able to adapt reasonably well to life with the condition, even if their symptoms never resolve completely. However, many people, particularly those whose symptoms are severe at the outset, find that their obsessions and compulsions grow more intrusive with time, making it harder to maintain relationships, hold down a job, or navigate the world successfully.

Are there medications for OCD?

Medication can be used to treat OCD. The class of drugs most often prescribed are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, which include fluvoxamine (under the brand name Luvox), fluoxetine (Prozac), and sertraline (Zoloft), among others. In cases of treatment-resistant OCD, other classes of medication, such as tricyclic antidepressants or atypical antipsychotics, may be prescribed. Medication is frequently used in conjunction with therapy.

Can OCD come back after treatment?

Yes. Major life transitions, periods of stress, or other factors can cause symptoms to return or, if they were never fully eradicated, to ramp back up in intensity. For some, these relapses are brief and do not require additional treatment; identifying specific triggers and practicing the skills learned in therapy can help speed their course. For others, returning to therapy for a brief period can help address the underlying stress and strengthen coping mechanisms.
