EMDR-certified trauma therapy for adults struggling with anxiety, attachment wounds, and emotional overwhelm. If you feel stuck in survival mode—constantly on edge, emotionally overwhelmed, or caught in patterns shaped by past experiences—you’re not alone. Many high-functioning adults carry unresolved trauma that quietly impacts how they feel, relate, and move through life.

I enjoy working with those who are dealing with grief & loss issues, trauma, relationship struggles, anyone who just need someone who cares.
I am a Certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist and have watched clients become released from traumatic pasts using EMDR. I also employ Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) because it eliminates shame! EFT is present-focused, non-blaming & client-centered. EMDR allows for true healing from trauma. Dare to give it a try?!

Their issues could range from anxiety, to processing being an empty nester, dealing with death, caring for aging parents or children's children, navigating teen age years, etc.
I would assist clients by actively listen while reflecting the client's thoughts related their presenting situation. We would discover the client's conflict and develop goals to move them toward their ideal self.

Shame is never a motivator. Many of your issues may be rooted in shame that you never even realized. Shame can take on many forms; pressure to live up to other's expectations of us, pressure to perform at the rate those around us seem to be, or pressure to live up to our own impossible standards we have created for ourselves. When these measures are not met, we can feel depleted, discouraged, and even hopeless. Or perhaps we have been verbally told by others (either past or present) they were disappointed in us or we weren't good enough. And we cannot seem to escape these defeating and destructive thoughts.

You’ve been carrying a lot for a long time. Painful experiences or major life changes may have left you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected. Part of you may wonder whether things can really change, while another part quietly hopes they can. You want to feel calmer, clearer, and more grounded in your mind and body. You want to trust yourself again and feel more at ease in this season of life—not to erase the past, but to loosen its grip. The good news is that change is possible. You don’t have to stay stuck. Together, we can build the support and tools you need to move forward with hope.

Sometimes we need to talk through the struggle. The stress to succeed in our family, education, career, and relationships creates burdens that are too big to bear alone. If you are like most, you often find yourself feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and anxious. I believe therapy is a healthy way to appropriately identify and address the struggles that keep us from our best life. I work with teenagers and adults who are struggling with mood, anxiety, depression, relationships and spiritual issues. I am passionate about helping couples improve their marriages through improved communication, conflict resolution, and relationship skills.

I work primarily with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma, and how these affect self-worth, relationships, and daily life. Many feel overwhelmed or stuck in patterns that won’t shift. We go at your pace. I offer a steady, supportive space with tools that create movement. My trauma-informed, evidence-based approach integrates ACT, CBT, IFS, and EMDR to build regulation skills while healing underlying wounds. I also support adults navigating behavioral addictions and related shame, secrecy, or betrayal; sessions are mainly individual, with partner sessions as helpful. Faith-based integration is available if desired!

Most of the people I work with are used to pushing through. They think a lot. They carry a lot. They’ve figured out how to function - even when something underneath feels off, overwhelming, or hard to name. I work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, depression, neurodivergence, life-transitions, and caregiving roles. Many are high-functioning but internally stretched - dealing with rumination, self-criticism, sensory overwhelm, emotional shutdown, or cycles of overworking and collapse. Others are trying to reconnect with themselves after years of adapting to others.

Painful experiences can leave us feeling completely alone. Sometimes we just need someone to meet us where we are to find a way to move forward. Healthy relationships can be difficult to navigate, especially when there is a lifetime of hurt getting in the way. I want to help you create healthy, fulfilling, nourishing connections with those you care about. Along with anxiety and depression, I am passionate about working with those who have dealt with trauma.

I specialize in Adverse Childhood Experiences, PTSD, behavioral issues, relationship/estrangement issues, court mandated issues, depression, anxiety and complicated grief.
Where do I go from here you might ask? You've endured a traumatic experience, maybe even more than once. You just had another blowout with your troublesome child or your family is in a spiraling crisis. You're in a volatile custody battle. Perhaps you don't recognize who you are anymore. You are paralyzed with fear or you don't know why you are so sad. Did that last explosive outburst of anger cross a penalizing line? I can help. I can work to help you function, to overcome a baffling obstacle or see a new vista.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
