I provide play therapy and counseling services to children, adolescents, and their families. I feel privileged to work with children and help them to heal emotionally, repair relationships, and improve daily functioning. I believe that all children possess the inner resources to heal themselves. I also believe that play therapy, family support, and the child's relationship with the therapist, best enable children to access those inner resources so they can heal, move forward, and be successful.

I want to start by saying that I truly hold a solid belief that each and every human deserves to feel happiness, love, excitement, contentment, and ultimately to achieve their dreams, desires, goals, and best-selves! I implement an integrative approach, with a craving to help. Whether that assistance be with an individual navigating ADHD, a person learning to cope with anxiety/depression, a couple for growth & change, entire family in need, I am devoted to seeking out and destroying the obstacles, strongholds, cognitive distortions, or whatever the “problem” is that is impeding their ability to live happy, healthy, fulfilled lives.

"Over the past few years, the demand for mental health services has increased. The field of mental health, in efforts to meet this demand, has caused the technique of counseling to become commercialized. When I created Harris & Harris my mission was to create a business practice that was ethically driven to get back to the basics of counseling. Customer volume should never be a measurement of success within a business, but providing consistent quality service should always be a measurement standard."

Step out into freedom and embrace the life you were born to live! Is fear running your life? Do you hide the “real you” from family & friends? Discover the courage to be who you truly are! Many people dealing with anxiety, depression and gender and sexuality issues feel they are missing out on life. Clients I work with often report feeling alone and afraid to reach out for help. They no longer want to hide who they are, yet also feel stuck moving forward due to lack of support or fear of judgement. My passion is to help you ditch the shame and find freedom to love the person in the mirror despite the opinions of others.

Most of the people I work with are used to pushing through. They think a lot. They carry a lot. They’ve figured out how to function - even when something underneath feels off, overwhelming, or hard to name. I work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, trauma, depression, neurodivergence, life-transitions, and caregiving roles. Many are high-functioning but internally stretched - dealing with rumination, self-criticism, sensory overwhelm, emotional shutdown, or cycles of overworking and collapse. Others are trying to reconnect with themselves after years of adapting to others.

I’m glad you are looking for someone to talk to! Maybe you are experiencing major life changes, struggling with depression or anxiety, dealing with trauma or relationship wounds, or just feeling stuck or in “auto-pilot” mode. My journey toward becoming a counselor has been shaped by experiencing many trials in my own life. These challenges gave me a deeper understanding of struggle, resilience, and the importance of having someone to walk alongside you in difficult times. Because of this, I feel called to create a supportive and compassionate space where others can feel understood, find hope, and discover their own strength as they navigate life’s challenges.

Domestic Abuse Therapists
What are the most effective ways to recover from domestic abuse?
Leaving an abusive relationship requires tremendous courage, so survivors in treatment should recognize that they have already completed the most important step. Still, the trauma of physical or emotional abuse can be difficult to process and overcome. Therapy can help survivors process trauma, grief, and difficult emotions, treat relevant mental health symptoms, and create a new framework for boundaries and relationships in the future. For some, support groups can also be an invaluable outlet for healing.

When should an individual seek help for domestic abuse?
Victims of intimate partner violence should seek help immediately. It can take substantial time, planning, energy, and courage to leave an abusive relationship, but starting the process—by seeking therapy, calling the domestic violence hotline, or simply confiding in a loved one—will help them get there. Those who have left abusive relationships but haven’t sought treatment can also greatly benefit from therapy to process and heal from the experience.

What are the consequences of staying in an abusive relationship?
Remaining in an abusive relationship has serious repercussions. In addition to the ongoing threat of physical danger and emotional abuse, research shows that intimate partner violence is associated with a range of mental health disorders including depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and substance abuse. Therefore it’s important for individuals in an abusive relationship to seek help as soon as possible.

How can you get domestic abuse treatment for someone else?
It can be very complicated to identify and leave an abusive relationship; barriers include the threat of violence, financial instability, and family pressures. Those concerned about a loved one in an abusive relationship should talk to them about the situation, provide them with resources such as the domestic violence hotline, and introduce the idea of seeing a therapist due to their concern for the person’s safety and well-being.
