I work primarily with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma, and how these affect self-worth, relationships, and daily life. Many feel overwhelmed or stuck in patterns that won’t shift. We go at your pace. I offer a steady, supportive space with tools that create movement. My trauma-informed, evidence-based approach integrates ACT, CBT, IFS, and EMDR to build regulation skills while healing underlying wounds. I also support adults navigating behavioral addictions and related shame, secrecy, or betrayal; sessions are mainly individual, with partner sessions as helpful. Faith-based integration is available if desired!

I want to start by saying that I truly hold a solid belief that each and every human deserves to feel happiness, love, excitement, contentment, and ultimately to achieve their dreams, desires, goals, and best-selves! I implement an integrative approach, with a craving to help. Whether that assistance be with an individual navigating ADHD, a person learning to cope with anxiety/depression, a couple for growth & change, entire family in need, I am devoted to seeking out and destroying the obstacles, strongholds, cognitive distortions, or whatever the “problem” is that is impeding their ability to live happy, healthy, fulfilled lives.

Step out into freedom and embrace the life you were born to live! Is fear running your life? Do you hide the “real you” from family & friends? Discover the courage to be who you truly are! My passion is to help you ditch the shame and find freedom to love the person in the mirror despite the opinions of others.

My ideal client is a child or teen navigating anxiety, trauma, social, or behavioral challenges. They need a safe, supportive space to express themselves and develop coping skills. The therapy goals would include building emotional resilience, improving self-esteem, and forming healthy relationships. Youth want to feel understood as they are discovering who they are. Additional support can give youth the tools they need to thrive and pave a way towards a brighter future.

I would love to talk with you and together discover your full potential and purpose in life. Sometimes that means looking back from where you are now to discover the barriers standing in your way. From personal experience, I believe it is never too late to discover a better way to do life. Joining you in your personal journey in discovering this joy and purpose, would be an honor. I believe that my life experience adds to my training as a counselor to help me be empathic and understanding of clients.

I consider it an honor to meet people where they are in their story and join them there. Pain is an invitation to turn towards – to turn towards self and turn toward others. When we respond to the invitation to face and tend to the parts of ourselves that evoke the most shame, we begin the process of repairing the breach of relationship we have with ourselves. When we begin to regain connection with those severed parts of self we increase our capacity to receive connection and love.

Do you feel weighed down by stress, haunted by painful memories, or stuck in cycles of anxiety and depression that never seem to end? You’re not alone, and reaching out is a brave first step. Many of my clients arrive feeling overwhelmed by unresolved issues from the past or the daily pressures of work, parenting, and relationships. If you’ve been late-diagnosed with ADHD or Autism, you may also carry the weight of self-criticism, shame, and never feeling “enough.” It can feel exhausting to keep going at this pace, but therapy can provide clarity, compassion, and a path forward toward healing, confidence, and resilience.

How does therapy for chronic illness work?
Many people living with a chronic illness may feel they cannot speak honestly about their experience out of embarrassment or fear of being a burden, or because those close to them do not understand, for example, that they may “look good” even if they do not feel good. Therapy sessions are an opportunity to speak openly with someone who knows their symptoms are not in their head and who can offer practical, proven suggestions for managing feelings of grief, shame, or fatigue, such as techniques to challenge unhelpful thoughts about symptoms and develop new ways to respond to them, such as distraction or calming breathing practices.
Can therapy help with physical symptoms of chronic illness?
Yes, especially if an individual with chronic illness has developed depression. People with depression are less likely to maintain their health treatment regimens or to take positive steps to manage physical symptoms when they arise, thereby potentially complicating their medical prognosis. Treatment of depression, through talk therapy, medication, or both, will often improve one’s physical state as it eases the emotional burden of illness.
What are the most effective treatment options for chronic illness?
No one living with a chronic illness, or their loved ones, should see depression as an unavoidable result of their condition. Instead, they should actively seek treatment. Research shows that people with depression are less likely to devote the required time and effort to maintaining or monitoring their health, and so therapy to limit the risk of depression can be vital for physical health as well. Therapeutic approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness-based stress reduction have been found to help individuals reduce stress and anxiety.
How long does therapy for chronic illness take?
There is no set timeline for therapy for people living with chronic illnesses, but many will see a therapist for a number of weeks or months, typically spanning at least 12 weekly sessions. Some people feel that they experience progress faster than others but even some who quickly feel improvement may continue with sessions for months or years. Some people may benefit from maintenance therapy if their symptoms change or they experience a decline in physical health. Others find that the skills learned in short-term therapy can be used on an ongoing basis, even after therapy has concluded.
