I am a Licensed Master Social Worker living in beautiful Boise, Idaho for the last two years ago. I have a bachelor’s degree in business management and a master’s degree in social work. After working in the business for many years, I wanted to pursue my passion, helping others find their true selves.

Love and Connection in life should not be confusing. But there is always a risk when it comes to getting those two critical human relational needs. Many times relationships feel like a dance, and feeling lost with no road map. It can often turn into division or discomfort, but does it always have to be that way? Emotionally Focused Therapy is a proven, evidence-based method that enhances couples' ability to gain Love and Connection through safety and security. And I would love to be that resource, coach, advocate to help partners sustain longevity in their relationship without leading to isolation or further hurt.

Sometimes men struggle with loneliness, insecurity, and building relationships. The desire to connect is there and because of anxiety about being too vulnerable with people, it becomes too risky; it feels like your safety and comfort is at stake. The cycle of wanting more connection, yet being uncomfortable with deeper connection can take its toll on you. Symptoms like depression, irritability, isolation, and low self-esteem can creep in and negatively affect your productivity, sleep, and physical health.

My passion is working with teens and young adults. Clients have noted that my relaxed personality sprinkled with humor helps them feel at ease. I provide a nonjudgmental space where clients can be themselves, embracing their race/sexuality/identity/beliefs. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance, making sure clients feel accepted and understood. I emphasize empowering people to make their own changes at a pace they are comfortable with, while challenging them to utilize the skills they've learned in therapy outside of sessions - After all, I believe the ultimate goal of therapy is to get out of therapy!

Kristy enjoys working with children, teens, adults, couples and families. She understands that healthy relationships are the core of human existence and happiness. Kristy is passionate about helping her clients heal from addiction, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, PTSD, and relationship issues. Kristy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Drug and Alcohol Counselor who has 14 years of experience providing therapy to adults and children/adolescents.

I am continually humbled and honored to get to know each person that comes to meet with me for therapy. Each person is unique, worthy, and deserves to honor themselves by taking time to self reflect, heal, process, and challenge themselves in a safe, compassionate, and honest way. I have training in trauma recovery and have years of experience working with clients recovering from sexual, physical, emotional, and/or mental abuse. I offer therapy to couples at different stages in their relationship (pre-marital, marital, coparenting) as well as meet with families that want to work thru different familial difficulties.

I specialize in Equine Therapy as well as traditional office psychotherapy. I take a mindfulness approach to "holding space" for my clients. I also recently completed an externship and Core Skills in Emotion Focused Therapy which allows me to do some pretty tough work with couples seeking joint therapy. I am also undergoing supervision for Trauma Focused CBT.
