Hello, and welcome. My name is April Brandon, and I am a fully licensed professional counselor. I have worked with clients facing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, grief, PTSD, gender identity issues, sexual identity issues, abuse, narcissistic abuse, addiction, sex work issues, homelessness, veteran issues, peri-menopause, caregiver burnout, and major life transitions. Specializing in grief, trauma, caregiver support, and recovery from abuse. I work with widows, surviving families, Gold Star families, veterans, first responders, and military caregivers. I offer daytime telehealth sessions for clients across Michigan.
I specialize in working with veterans, military families, and LGBTQ+ individuals. I provide VA-required mental health evaluations for disability claims, gender-affirming care assessments, Emotional Support Animal evaluations, and diagnostic evaluations to support treatment planning and appropriate levels of care.
My counseling style is open, nonjudgmental, and tailored to each person's needs. I draw from ACT, CBT, logo, humanistic, solution-focused, and client-centered approaches.
