April E House, MA, LMFT, Marriage & Family Therapist in Los Angeles
I believe humans are naturally driven to flourish. My passion is helping others create the lives and relationships they wish for, with self and others. I bring authenticity, compassion, gentle humor and energetic optimism to my practice. I love working with clients to help them learn to trust their intuition, gain insight, increase self-esteem, and find more joy and satisfaction in their lives and relationships. I also work with clients to eliminate limiting beliefs/behaviors, find positive ways to manage stress and cope, learn to love themselves, and explore and find clarity in times of life transition.
As A Pro-Marriage clinician, I love helping couples rejuvenate their relationships. Infidelity, disconnection, growing apart...these things happen, and do not have to mean the end of your relationship! It is entirely possible to come into counseling and leave with a stronger, happier, more fulfilling relationship.

Women's Body Image Group

Is the way you feel about your body negatively impacting your relationship? Negative body image is one of the most prevalent issues contributing to sexless marriages. And sex is one of the top concerns that brings couples to counseling. This group will help women work through body image concerns by providing tools, exercises and a space for processing feelings to make peace with your body. In this group, you will learn to be present in your body, explore new of ways of relating to your body, and find new empowerment among women with the same desires and goals.

Challenging Perfectionism

Do you find yourself constantly beating yourself up, procrastinating, or asking why bother? Perfectionism might be at play, even if you don't see yourself as the typical Type A perfectionist. Perfectionism can cause difficulties at work, school, and home, and can color the way one views and treats oneself. The consequences of perfectionism can wreak havoc on relationships, and rather than contribute positively to achievements and self-esteem, can actually do the opposite. This group will help you to identify where perfectionism is holding you back, and provide tools to overcome it and live your fullest life.
