Hi, my name is Renee Heagney, LCMHC. I earned my degree in Dance/Movement Therapy from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor and board certified dance/movement therapist. I also have training in adaptive yoga interventions. My work experience has been in hospitals, schools, and community mental health settings. I am rostered to provide TF-CBT, and specialize in treating trauma and working with and advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community.

My name is Megan Cavanaugh, and I am a certified physician assistant. I obtained a bachelor’s degree in public health from UNCW and a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from GWU. Since 2018, I have been a licensed EMT, consistently maintaining my certification and demonstrating a commitment to providing quality care. Before PA school, I gained invaluable experience while working at a substance use and behavioral health center, where I engaged with individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges, further honing my ability to deliver comprehensive care.

I have experience working with young children, adolescents, young and older adults between the ages of 6-40 years old. In my work with young children, I focus on regulating their emotions, enhancing their sense of self-esteem, coping with any stressors that they may be experiencing, as well as teaching them coping skills so that they can manage their behaviors in the future. The aim of my work with adults is to guide you through life's challenges by exploring your self-awareness in order to cope with life's adversities. My desire as your therapist is to provide a safe and supportive environment where I can meet you where you are.
