Do you feel lost, anxious, or disconnected from life? In a compassionate environment, we will explore what has you feeling disempowered or stuck. Using a mind-body approach and healing modalities from the field of energy psychology, you will discover how to shift these unwanted states. You will learn how to cultivate centeredness and live from a place of balance and conscious choice. Or are you looking to get support on your fertility journey? Healing your own family of origin imprints and past traumas is an important part of this work. I facilitate prenatal bonding which serves conception, pregnancy & childbirth.

I work as a perinatal therapist, supporting folks who are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or postpartum.
The current state of the world can feel overwhelming, confusing, and scary. Those of us who hold marginalized identities have to work extra hard to feel safe, valid, and empowered. LGBTQIA+ communities, folks with different abilities, people who are a marginalized gender, as well as those who would like to explore their whiteness and their privilege- I am right here with you. Past traumas can often impact how we are able to show up for ourselves and others. We each have the ability to find our unique path to fulfillment and wholeness.

Are you struggling to manage overwhelming feelings with pregnancy or navigating the minefields of pregnancy, prenatal, or postpartum? Perhaps you are feeling frustrated by the consistent pattern of unfulfilling and frustrating relationship issues in your life and have wondered to yourself, ‘maybe I need to work on me’? Or maybe you are a woman that is feeling frustrated that penetrative sex feels painful and less enjoyable than you thought it would be? Either way, you're feeling disheartened that your life does not look like you imagined it would and you're looking for a change.

My work often focuses on life events and transitions, trauma, family dynamics, women's pregnancy-related issues, and the transition to motherhood.
Navigating our world can create stress as we struggle to cope with our responsibilities, relationships, and emotions. Increasing awareness of patterns in our lives and developing new tools and insights can help us to feel more effective, competent, and able to face life's challenges. It can be difficult to move toward change, and I commend you for taking this first step. In our work together, I will provide a non-judgmental space to allow for self-exploration and growth. With deep respect for the healing process and resiliency of my clients, I recognize the importance of working with someone you trust and feel a connection with.

Pregnancy, Prenatal, Postpartum Therapists
What are the most effective ways to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns?
The most effective way to address pregnancy, prenatal, and postpartum concerns is by finding a therapist who has prior experience helping other patients overcome the challenge being faced. For example, a marriage and family therapist may have experience helping couples adjust to their new relationship dynamic. An anxiety specialist may have experience helping with phobias or illness anxiety related to the child’s health. A depression specialist may have experience treating postpartum depression.
When should I seek treatment for prenatal or postpartum concerns?
Pregnancy and the postpartum period involve intense physical and mental changes; a degree of upset and instability is normal. However, if these changes impair daily functioning, it may be time to seek help. This distinction is pertinent for postpartum depression: A period of teariness, irritability, and distress is difficult but normal in the one to two weeks after childbirth (sometimes called the “baby blues.”) But if feelings of sadness and hopelessness persist beyond that period, the person should seek treatment.
How do I manage worries during pregnancy or the postnatal period?
A therapist can help patients develop the tools they need to manage anxieties during or after pregnancy. Cognitive behavioral therapy can help people identify and reframe harmful patterns of thought, and change their behaviors. Other techniques and skills can allow people to develop acceptance, psychological flexibility, self-compassion, communication skills, and more.
Are there specific medications for postpartum depression?
In 2019, the FDA approved the first medication designed to treat postpartum depression. The medication is called brexanolone and is delivered intravenously by a medical professional over the course of a few days. However, typical antidepressants, which are more accessible, can also treat postpartum depression. The disorder is often best treated through a combination of medication and therapy.
