My psychotherapy with adult individuals is active and collaborative. We begin with discussing what precipitated your visit and attempt to understand why you are where you are from a perspective that is developmental and non-pathologizing. I am skilled at weighing the relative contributions of what is within an individual and what is between individuals and within troubled relationships.
Our work is both experiential and insight-oriented. I use my training in family systems, cognitive-behavioral, and psychodynamic models to provide you with greater understanding and to recommend changes in behavior. I model for you new and more effective ways of interacting with others.
At times I introduce an experiential component that enriches your work and our collaboration. I also tap into a network of colleagues when we agree that additional assessment would enhance my work with you. I currently offer online sessions.
