Many people struggle with a feeling of being different from those around them. A sense of otherness or shame lies at the root of many mental health concerns. My primary focus as a therapist is helping you understand and embrace your own identity and your own values. There is powerful strength in being yourself, and we can discover that strength together. My expertise is particularly in working with body image and eating disorders, with people who have (or wish to be evaluated for) autism and/or ADHD, with people experiencing self-injury or suicidal ideation, and with people diagnosed with "treatment-resistant" disorders.
I work with Body Positive NYC, a social-justice practice focused on body image and eating disorders. My work builds on a deep knowledge of evidence-based practices, and my approach is relational. I draw on a blend of research, my own lived experience with mental health, and genuine curiosity and compassion to offer each patient individualized support.
Thank you for taking the brave, and often challenging, step of reaching out for mental health support. I am looking forward to hearing from you and to getting to know you. I hope you'll send me a quick email or give me a call, and that I can help support you in your journey to a full and joyful life.
