I love facilitating therapy groups and am particularly passionate about empowering other women by equipping them with healthy coping skills, encouraging them to identify & reframe any negative core beliefs and providing them with a safe and nonjudgmental environment to rewrite their narrative. In these groups, you will be reminded of the strength and resiliency you already carry inside you as you open up about your fears, hopes and dreams alongside other women.

Folks I work with describe me as warm and nonjudgmental, yet assertive and highly engaged. Our work will be an active collaboration - while I will continuously strive to deeply understand your inner experience, I will also point out things in your behavior or thinking that you may not be aware of and offer potential explanations of your challenges as well as practical suggestions about achieving your goals. As you gain more understanding and compassion towards the anxious, depressed, angry, or hurting parts of yourself, you will feel increasingly more grounded and empowered to lead the life that you desire.

I work with issues regarding anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, life transitions, anger, behavioral issues, coping skills, family conflict, parenting, peer relationships, self-esteem and others.
I AM NOT CURRENTLY TAKING NEW CLIENTS! My goal as a therapist is to help you uncover your true potential & lead a life that is worth celebrating. I work to provide a safe and nurturing enviornment where you can receive support, guidance & feedback as I help guide you towards positive change. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand & resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches & techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling &meaningful life.

I love supporting clients as they build self-love and self-trust, strengthen relationships, address mood and anxiety concerns, heal from trauma, explore identity, discover and show up as their true selves.
My passion is helping folks from queer, trans, and BIPOC communities find empowerment, freedom, joy, and connection in the face of systemic oppression. I believe that our culture disconnects us from ourselves and from each other, and focus on helping clients reconnect. I love helping others tune into the wisdom of our bodies and emotions, and use these as a compass through difficult times. I emphasize self-acceptance and self-compassion, as well as community building. I use a warm, supportive, relational approach to help you find connection, direction, and joy in life. For more, see: www.interconnectionshealing.com/ellie-wilde/

I’ve worked with people with mental health issues ranging from anxiety/depression to schizophrenia.
If you are struggling with a relationship, familial issues, a difficult life transition, or just struggling to get through the day-to-day then it is a good time to ask for help.I believe that it is never too late to start counseling and that counseling is a unique experience for everyone. Some people might go to counseling weekly for years, some might go to sessions weekly for 6 months and then transition to biweekly, some might be going to counseling for the first time, and some might be looking for a new counselor. All these experiences are valid, and my goal is to help you figure out what works for you and what you want to achieve.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
