Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, issues with substance abuse, or relationship issues, I'm here to help.
I am a licensed professional counselor looking to help others find their full potential by using an eclectic approach to therapy. If you find yourself aimlessly scrolling through profiles in search of an authentic therapist, I may be a great fit for you. I find that being authentic with clients is what helps them build a foundation and feel safe enough to share their issues and concerns. I practice from a person-centered approach while mixing in elements of CBT to help clients guide their treatment while also holding them accountable.

I have been providing therapeutic services for adults struggling with a range of issues including substance use disorders, problems with self-esteem, anxiety, depression, relationships, and grief.
In the therapeutic setting, I use an eclectic approach by blending a person-centered spirit with cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused techniques. The goal is to provide a safe space where you can explore, address, accept, and talk through life’s challenges. When we seek to, “Live life on life’s terms,” that can get complicated. It is my belief everyone needs a place to process their specific difficulties. I have a team mindset and by being part of your "WE," I can lend the professional support needed to begin the work of personal development and change. Let's find solutions for better stress management and good mental health.

In addition to anxiety and depression, I also work with people who struggle from symptoms of PTSD, BPD, and bipolar disorder.
Hi ya’ll, I’m Chris. The state of the world and our own well-being can often feel very fragile, especially after these last few years. Through counseling I am able to provide an outlet for processing your emotions and actions and finding a way to unstick yourself when you don’t like where you are. Therapy can be a frightening step for many, but I hope to make your journey to a healthier mindset as comfortable and rewarding as possible. My clinical experience and education are focused on working with those who struggle with severe depression and anxiety.

With a specialization in women's issues, I work from a gentle, mindful, and holistic therapeutic approach. I deeply understand that a woman’s experience in the world shapes satisfaction with self, others, and overall well being. Whether these experiences are through pregnancy and motherhood, life transitions, relationships, or simply from being a woman in the world - we can be left with a sense of dullness, anxiety, dissatisfaction, or lack of feeling present. My hope is to offer support, empowerment, and care as you explore these experiences and how to live more closely aligned with who you are at your most true and authentic self.

It is completely normal to feel anxious before attending your first session and maybe a few more after that one.
I believe everyone has the need to be seen and heard- everyone has a story to tell. I can support you with finding and using your voice. Maybe you are questioning past or present decisions or have “unfinished business.” Feeling overwhelmed with sadness due to a death or loss of a relationship, pet, job, or health and feeling stuck and alone. Feeling anxious because of excessive worry- feeling frozen in fear. Maybe you realize the ways you try to cope no longer serve you. Together we can collaborate, identify ways for you to self-support and develop a plan to mobilize so that you can begin healing and live a more fulfilling life.

My ideal population is adults struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, stress, or substance use - however I believe that everyone deserves to have a therapist who is dedicated to them, and I would never turn away a client unless their needs were out of my scope of practice. My ideal client is someone who is motivated for therapy and is willing to learn.

Life presents us with a variety of stressors and demands that at times may feel difficult to manage. Experiencing loss, depression, anxiety, or memories of disturbing past events may feel overwhelming and prevent us from fully living in the present. Or, we may feel stuck and unsure of what to do next. If you are experiencing similar challenges, I want to help you to process them, identify strengths, and utilize those strengths to heal. I will provide a safe, supportive, judgment-free space for you to share your story, help you to be present focused, and cope with difficult emotions and situations.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
