My first priority in working with clients is to provide a unique space where they can feel safe to share all parts of themselves openly and honestly. I see the therapeutic alliance as the birthplace for growth and change. Therefore, developing a trusting, collaborative relationship is vital. To facilitate this, I encourage clients to feel free to discuss any material they want in session. Additionally, I frequently check-in and process clients’ feelings towards our working relationship to get a better sense of who they are, what works for them, and what is best suited to help them with the issues that brought them in therapy.
I completed my doctorate from Columbia University, where I am an Adjunct Professor. I also work as a licensed psychologist at the Brooklyn VA. I work with diverse clients presenting with issues of anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and identity issues. I am committed to helping clients move through personal crises towards personal growth.
I actively encourage clients to deepen their self-exploration so that they can apply the insights gained in session into their lives. My integrative approach prioritizes each client's unique identity, strengths, and needs in hopes to cultivate awareness and mastery as we embark on our journey towards healing.

Jessica Esposito's Groups

Social Anxiety

Teenagers are dealing with a unique set of challenges, including having to navigate new social landscapes, manage the expectations and judgements of others, and find their own identity simultaneously. As a result, many teens experience social anxiety and find it difficult to make friends, speak up in class, or engage with the world around them. This group is created for teenagers struggling with social anxiety to help them overcome these challenges. During the course of this group, we will target and reduce overwhelming emotions, help manage social anxiety, and facilitate ways members can successfully navigate the social world around them.
