Welcome! Thank you for visiting my profile. I am a licensed independent mental health practitioner and have been working in the psychology field for approximately 16 years. In 2011, I founded Counseling Connections & Associates; a group practice offering mental health, substance abuse, and medication management services. I pride myself on being a passionate and energetic therapist focused on helping clients take steps towards making positive, long-lasting changes in their life. My goal is to assist clients in being able to live up to their fullest potential in a safe and therapeutic environment.
I specialize in adolescent and adult therapy. I take an eclectic approach when working with clients; using a combination of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.
EMDR is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on helping people heal symptoms related to disturbing life events and/or trauma. There have been numerous controlled studies demonstrating the effectiveness of EMDR in helping people reprocess traumatic memories in a much shorter time frame than with other forms of psychotherapy.
