Our providers are professionally trained in treating anxiety disorders, depression, anger management, attachment, trauma, childhood abuse (physical, emotional, & sexual), grief & loss, divorce, marital issues, borderline personality, codependency, self-esteem, and other concerns that interfere with happiness and life goals.
We know how important it is to have options when you decide to reach out for support. As a group of clinicians invested in your wellbeing, we provide individual and group counseling to adults, children (ages 4+), families, and couples. Because we cannot determine when life stressors or increasing mental health concerns will occur, you may be able to be seen the same day of your call.

As a therapist, I educate on coping skills and provide insight on changing negative/anxious thought patterns. My focus is not to provide every answer but to give you room for reflection and openness to considering/identifying alternative perspectives. I strive to be an excellent critical listener, holding hope for your growth and change while providing non-judgmental acceptance. My work is strengths-based: focusing on positives while balancing/considering current difficulties and desired changes. I feel my strengths lie in treating anxiety, depression and OCD although I provide services for a wide range of diagnoses.

I am currently an LGSW who mostly works with adolescents and adults that experience struggles such anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges (parental, peer, romantic), disordered eating, self esteem issues, trauma, and challenging family dynamics.
For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for helping and supporting others, which is why I love being a therapist. You as an individual come into my office with your own unique set of challenges, needs, and history. This allows me to really take my time getting to know who you are, what you're looking for, and what will be most helpful to you in our time together. I strive to create a safe space that utilizes a strengths based and non judgmental approach where you feel heard, understood, and more confident as you reach your identified goals at a pace that feels sustainable to you. My goal is to meet you where you're at.

I am able to understand and empathize with those who are experiencing grief, loss, sadness, and anxiety.
I believe strongly in patient-centered treatment. It is important for clients to take control of their goals and lives when in therapy. Nothing is more empowering than having your voice heard. I take a strengths-based approach to treatment to help the client realize their potential to be the change what they want to see in their life.

My experiences include working with family and peer relationships, conflict resolution, anger/emotion management, anxiety, self-esteem, attachment and co-dependency, chemical dependency, spirituality, and self-regulation/determination.
Thank you for taking the time to visit this page. I hope what you find here feels right for you. Everyone has basic human needs such as being heard and understood, affirmed, included, loved, and safe. These are met through healthy relationships with the world around us and form the foundation of our personal health and well-being. In meeting our needs, our behavior is purposeful, and no one sets out to fail. Therapy is a process of discovery, or re-discovery, of how to be our best selves and achieve a more satisfying, fulfilling, and enriched life.

You feel overwhelmed, helpless, and frustrated, like you have tried everything to help your child or teen and it’s not getting better. It is painful to watch your child struggle with big emotions, stress, worries, explosive anger, and challenging behaviors. It is so hard to see the things your child once loved and excelled at becoming anything but fun and enjoyable. It seems like your child is just not themselves anymore and you are drained by simple tasks like getting out the door, school work, activities, and chores turning into complete chaos, power struggles, or arguments. If this sounds familiar, therapy can help.

Let's pretend... it's 6 months from now - what is different? What do you have more of? In the beginning of therapy, many people come confused, overwhelmed, and burned-out. Some describe feeling lost, or "wanting to feel like me again." Many tell me that they've tried everything, to no avail. But they also often know where they want to be. Maybe you're in a place where you feel ready to make a change. Or maybe that you need to make one. Taking the first step in finding a provider, scheduling an appointment, and meeting for the first time is hard work! And it is the last step you need to do alone.

I believe that early intervention can prevent serious mental health issues later in life and creates a healthy foundation for children and their families. I also believe anyone can benefit from therapy, so I appreciate and respect working collaboratively, alongside people who are experiencing stress including trauma, life changes, anxiety, depression, and relational problems. I enjoy working with people of all ages, helping people to find their inner strengths from an attachment, developmental, and systemic perspective.

I have training in anxiety for adolescents and young adults and use aspects of self compassion to work with clients to reframe anxious thoughts that interfere with daily life.
I am a psychotherapist who specializes in working with children, adolescents, young adults and parents. I am unapologetically optimistic about young people and truly believe that there is unlimited potential with individuals when it is properly discovered and nurtured. My experience at Amberwing and DBT allows me to help transition after treatment to ensure positive long-term results. I also specialize in transition from Essentia IOP, Adult Partial and Inpatient for both adolescents and adults. I work from a strengths based perspective and believe that the relationship with the client is the most important part of the journey to healing.

I work with couples and individuals of many backgrounds and orientations who are experiencing a wide variety of challenges: depression, anxiety, communication issues, life changes, self-esteem issues, relationship conflict, among others.
As a therapist, I seek to join my clients in the creative process of therapy, to come up with helpful solutions to ease their struggles and bring more joy back into their lives. We walk together through the fog in search of pockets of sunshine. I strive to not only see my clients’ emotional health, but also their physical, spiritual, and relational health, looking to each for clues that might hold healing. I am innately curious, compassionate, and focused on my clients’ strengths.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
