Welcome! Clients come for support with a wide variety of concerns. Some have experienced a loss or trauma in their lives, or have had a significant life transition. Other clients are struggling with depression or anxiety, or are having problems in their primary relationships. Many clients have a desire to improve their self awareness, to improve their perspective, or to strengthen their life skills. My work is informed by an eclectic mix of treatment models; psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, DBT and Motivational Interviewing. I also teach Mindfulness practices as an effective tool to strengthen perspective and build resiliency.
I'm a LICSW with 35+ years of experience working in a variety of clinical settings. Currently a senior member of the clinical staff at the Counseling and Mental Health Service of Harvard University, I treat students from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. I've received training in Motivational Interviewing, DBT and am an instructor in Koru Mindfulness.
We have all been through a very challenging time over the past several years, and it is quite common for the stress/anxiety we feel in response to become more difficult to manage. Psychotherapy offers us the chance to receive the support we need, while building skills to manage these challenges, to strengthen our perspective and improve our self awareness.
