Therapy is the process of coming to live as our best selves. This involves a complex dance of change and acceptance. It's this process that I so appreciate navigating together with my clients. Some people reach out to a therapist because of challenging life-adjustment situations. Others are pushed into therapy by family, friends, or employers when they are in highly distressing situations. Either way, change is possible when we're willing to show up just a little bit.
I am a trauma-informed therapist trained in parts-therapy and certified in EMDR and Sex Addiction Therapy. I also utilize Pyschodynamic therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Somatic Experiencing. My favorite work is group-therapy and couples counseling.
I believe that everything we do, internally and externally, is our best attempt at self-care. Sometimes these efforts are misguided or flawed, but still deserve compassion. My efforts as a therapist are to balance that compassion with honest reflection. My goal is always to facilitate your growth into the self you want to be.
