Grief - heartbreaking loss. Shocking pain. Death of a family member, child, friend, pet, relationship, job. Unexpected or anticipated, it's so hard. Loss of physical ability from illness or accident. Raw, striking agony. You hurt in your head, your heart. Your body aches. Crying spells. It’s difficult to concentrate or remember things, make decisions, think straight. Waking up at night unable to go back to sleep. You feel so alone, even when you are with people who don't know how to act around you. Impossible- your life is forever changed. Anxiety creeps in with worry about the future. The suffering at times feels unbearable.
I support anxious and grieving clients find comfort and gain coping skills during the times when you feel like you are losing your mind.
I get it. I can help. As you grieve, I provide a safe space to mourn. Together we acknowledge the feelings, create new norms, honor the love experienced, find renewed investment in life. For anxiety,- I introduce cognitive and somatic interventions so you regain control over anxious thoughts and invite calm and joy into daily activities.
I believe strongly in the therapy process to gain the much needed support for grief and loss of all kinds. I also specialize in anxiety and offer support for incessant worry, recurrent thoughts, panic attacks, phobias. As a Board-Certified dance/movement therapist, I can provide embodied methods to "move" forward with gentleness and patience.
