I have been a therapist for more than 25 years. I am caring, supportive, and take the time to understand.
I realize it is difficult to talk about private, important matters with someone you don't know. You want to be comfortable with whomever you choose. Therefore, I offer a free half hour consultation. I can better understand something of what you are trying to deal with and let you know what we might do. You can see how comfortable you feel talking with me and sense whether I have something of value to give to you.
My orientation is cognitive-behavioral therapy - that is, I might focus in on things you tell yourself about your situation and the things you do, and how this helps or hinders you in reaching your goals. Depending on the issue you wish to work on, I might use different techniques.
I see therapy as a collaborative effort - we work together to create solutions.
I have most experience helping with anxiety, fears, depression, stress, grief, relationship and communication problems, self-esteem issues, coping with illness and life's transitions.
I am able to see people by appointment, days, evenings, and Saturdays.
