I can help you with trauma, anxiety, depression, periods of uncertainty and darkness, grief and losses of all kinds, feelings of disconnection and loneliness, and life transitions.
Your resiliency has gotten you far, but what if you don’t have to keep going at it alone? What if, rather than being “broken” or needing to “get over it already”, you have actually needed - and deserve - the right kind of support for you to heal, grow, and thrive? When we are understood, accompanied, and supported in a deep, reliable way, the healing and transformation we seek can unleash from our own interior. Seemingly paradoxically, deeply connected, safe relationships liberate us. It takes real strength and courage to reach for this kind of support. I hold deep respect for you seeking this out, as well as faith in your process.

Not accepting new clients as I transition into maternity leave through January 2025. Shutting off the "inner critic" can often feel impossible. As such, most of the adults I treat struggle with negative beliefs about themselves in addition to anxiety/depression, body dysmorphia/low self-esteem, heartbreak/relationship problems or early attachment wounds/relational trauma. Supporting college students and young professionals who are navigating adulthood and the myriad of personal and professional challenges that can arise during this time is a passion of mine. I also enjoy supporting perfectionists and high-achieving individuals.

Many have found that somatic therapy is effective in treating trauma, anxiety, and depression, as well as parental and relationship wounding.
I offer somatic psychotherapy (touch and tablework) for people who are working on trauma, relationship and attachment issues. This work may also bring up family of origin issues that may also be unresolved. I combine somatic, IFS, and attachment modalities. My somatic training also provides expertise in helping those with chronic illness or pain and how this is related to mental health. Somatic work also is for those with after-effects of surgeries or accidents.

My great joy is to facilitate healing in body, mind and spirit. I use a varied approach to suit your needs and circumstances. Difficult life events such as a relationship breakup, divorce, addictions and depression demand learning new coping skills. Releasing stress, creating safety within and with others are the first tasks in the therapeutic alliance. Understanding your world is my focus. We work to transform your life stressors into growth opportunities, a challenge I meet willingly. With trust, everything is achievable.

Hi and welcome! Therapy is a powerful and life changing force and the therapist client fit is the most important element in making therapy worthwhile and effective. Most clients who seek therapy with me are working through relationship issues (either old wounds from family of origin or current relationship issues), loneliness, parenting adjustments or struggles, loss, divorce or separation, connection challenges or relationship betrayal.

I believe we are all inherently strong, intelligent, and creative beings, capable of working through even the most chaotic of circumstances, and that we are designed to learn and grow from such experiences. Moreover, I believe we are all ultimately capable of becoming the designers of our lives, creating peace, joy and love as common life experiences for ourselves. My intention as a therapist is to appreciate your unique experiences and views into yourself, and to work with you as you strive toward your highest potential.

Maybe you have difficulties communicating about relationships or sex. Lacking desire or skills in your relationship can be frustrating but there is hope. Respark Therapy has 8 therapists with flexible schedules and fees. All therapists are highly trained, confident professionals. Discussing intimacy is sometimes scary, especially if don't have the language to talk about it. Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
