Sometimes things happen along the way that are too overwhelming to deal with on your own. I can help you identify the factors that are holding you back and provide support while you develop the necessary skills and insights to move forward. Trauma, divorce, behavior issues at school/home, grief/loss, family and life transitions, anxiety and depression can challenge even the healthiest individuals and families. I use a combination of traditional talk therapy, play therapy, and EMDR in my treatment of children, adolescents, women, adults, and families. I customize each client's treatment based on their unique needs.
I am trained in EMDR. The goal of EMDR therapy is to help you process the experiences that are causing problems so that you develop emotions, understanding, and perspectives that lead to healthy behaviors and interactions. EMDR can be used to treat a variety of therapeutic issues across the lifespan.
Play Therapy-I use play to communicate with children and establish a relationship so that I can understand what's going on in their lives and help them process trauma and other emotionally laden events. Parents are included in their child's treatment and involved in the problem-solving process.
