I help people with anxiety, depression, and chronic illness to get back in control and live the life they want. Our thoughts, memories, feelings, and bodily sensations make life so hard. Do they keep you from doing the things you want? Do you feel so overwhelmed you need to run or to escape? Do they make you regret the way you’ve lived? Do they keep you from people you care about? You don’t have to live this way. We can take steps to put you back in charge of you and your life. My mission is to help you be proud of the person you are, get you doing the things you want, with the people you care about most.

My specialties include anxiety, life transitions, depression, sexual trauma, grief, inner child work, and spiritual development.
Currently accepting new virtual clients! We all encounter challenges and setbacks in life. Therapy can support you in overcoming them while co-creating a life that you love. I approach therapy through a wellness lens to help you flourish, which means that instead of focusing solely on what's wrong, we pay attention to your strengths and ways that you can feel your best. As a trauma-informed therapist, I recognize that healing happens within the context of felt safety and connection so I strive to create a therapeutic space where you can show up as your whole and unique self. It is an honor to be there as a witness and guide.

My areas of speciality include stress and anxiety, managing ADHD, burn-out, and high-stress careers. I work with people around their interpersonal relationships and their relationship with themselves, with realistic understanding of the demands of the modern world. I work well with clients who might not "like therapy" generally, and still recognize they might benefit from talking to someone. I also work with men looking to change relationship and emotional patterns, and have extensive experience with professionals and professional students.

As a Psychologist, I have the honor of working with individuals in their journeys of self-discovery, healing, renewal, and growth; journeys which, at times, have emerged out of periods of life crises & emotional upheaval. I offer individual, couples, and group psychotherapy, working with people navigating a range life transitions and challenges. I work compassionately and collaboratively with clients to explore, discover and overcome aspects of their lives that keep them from recognizing and meeting their full potential. This also involves recognizing and emphasizing clients' strengths, resilience, and assets they already embody.

As a licensed clinical psychologist, I provide therapy for teens and adults to help with anxiety and depression, adjusting to work, school, and life stress, navigating major life transitions, and coping with chronic health issues.
Every day doesn’t have to be so hard. Whether it be work, family, school, your health, or the state of the world, there are a lot of things to navigate to get through. As the stress builds up, so does anxiety and depression, and as a result, it gets harder and harder to do keep doing the things you need to do. These days, this seems to be more the norm than the exception and finding help seems almost impossible. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything you can do. My goal is to work closely with you to identify and accomplish your goals, address what is most important to you, and help you find ways to enjoy life to the fullest.

Many clients I see face challenges with anxiety, depression, relationships, life transitions, stress, work/life balance, and have experienced traumatic events.
Life transitions and relationships can be both beautiful and difficult. Everyone deserves a safe space to share and explore their thoughts and feelings. Often through reflection, when we allow ourselves to slow down and notice what we are experiencing in the moment, true self discovery and capacity from within can be found and cultivated. With compassion and openness I walk along side my clients as they work towards relief and resolution. I utilize a blend of traditional therapy approaches along with experiential modalities such as Brainspotting, Mindfulness exercises, and Guided Visualizations to tailor the therapeutic experience.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
