Does it feel like you are in survival mode 24/7 and struggling to feel like yourself? Maybe you have even thought: “I should enjoy being a parent, but I don’t love every moment. What is wrong with me?” You might wonder if you are experiencing postpartum depression or anxiety. Your relationship with your spouse is strained from the arguing and you feel disconnected. It feels like two ships passing in the night. You yearn for a deeper connection and to feel the passion you once had for one another. Mostly, you want relief and a sense of hope. But you’re not sure where to start.

I specialize in working with individuals with eating disorders & anxiety disorders and provide teletherapy from the safety and comfort of your own home.
Life can be hard sometimes, but some times are harder than others. After so many years of navigating a cultural climate of stress, division and injustice, it's no wonder most of us feel like we are walking around in a cloud of existential angst. While everyone responds to stressors differently, there is one thing we all have in common; we all have the need to feel seen, heard and understood.

I am passionate about working with children and adolescents who struggle with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and self-esteem.
Being a human is hard and raising a tiny human can be even harder. As parents, there is an immense pressure to do right by our children and raise them to be the authentic beautiful humans we know they are. We live in a world that makes that hard sometimes. Between social media, academic pressures, and social relationships, it can be hard for our youth to flourish. I believe there are no “bad kids”, and every behavior or symptom has a purpose. I would love to join you in supporting your child or teen to find the right tools to empower them to navigate their struggles and give them the necessary tools to overcome challenges.

A incorporates healthy benefits for a "person and their environment" by assisting individuals to overcome their fears and other challenges that may limit them from becoming their best self.
The ideal client for the E.L.L.A group practice are individuals, families, adolescents suffering with emotional instability due to significant life transition, trauma & loss and those seeking healing and wellness through holistic approaches. My practice assists in finding answers for where (and why) an individual/family may be in their life, how they got there (influences, stressors, traumas, barriers), identifying alternatives for improved life functioning and finally assisting in finding contentment, balance and peace with current life status while encouraging optimal functioning in all aspects of one's life or business.

Hey there :) Really glad you've stopped by here! I'm Rebecca, founder and psychotherapist of RKG Psychotherapy. Times are super strange right now, and this isn't something you should have to handle without some support along the way. For a lot of us, this constant atmosphere of stress and uncertainty can feel unbearable at times. There has been an unprecedented shift recently in a nationwide embrace for mental wellness and caring for our mental health needs, and you can be a part of it. This a great time to start working with a counselor to address better and different ways to manage stress, conflict, and overwhelming emotions.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
