I work with clients who are navigating anxiety coupled with experiencing at least one of the following: a major life transition, self-esteem challenges, feelings of being stuck, and/or interpersonal/relationship difficulties.
Are you ready to do the work of discovering, unlearning and growing to feel greater fulfillment? If so, I would love to meet you. My role as a licensed therapist is to guide you on your self-discovery and healing journey. I am active in the process of therapy —meaning I will offer encouragement, challenge limiting beliefs, reflect back your inner strengths and help you to explore parts of yourself that you want to understand, start to heal and embrace. I will guide you towards practical tools that you can use outside the session within your daily life. My approach is centered on mindfulness and nervous system regulation.

I specialize in working with young professionals, adults, new parents, and older adults struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship needs, family issues, trauma, self-esteem, identity exploration, and grief and loss.
Identifying and deciding to work through your personal needs is a bold and courageous step. Although it can be overwhelming to share your story with a therapist who is not known to you, it can also be liberating to speak to a neutral party. I use a warm and non-judgemental approach and value your wellbeing and boundaries. By taking a gradual and exploratory approach, you and I will develop a strong, safe and meaningful relationship in order to reach your particular goals.

I have extensive training background in evidenced based treatments and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Interventions treating conditions such as depression, social phobia, OCD, generalized anxiety, panic attacks and other mood and anxiety disorders.
I am a NY State licensed clinical psychologist with experience working with children 6 years and older, adolescents and young adults. I use person centered approach and CBT to treat mood and anxiety disorders and other mental health problems. My authenticity and sense of humor, and ability to incorporate play into the sessions help me connect with children and treat them effectively. I believe individuals first need to feel safe, understood and supported within the therapeutic relationship. I also think it's important to tailor treatment interventions to fit the specific needs of individuals I am working with.

I am a psychotherapist, based out of New York City, with advanced post graduate training for anxiety, addiction, OCD, and trauma. The patterns, habits, beliefs, and relationships that we engage in are often deeply rooted and cause much pain, internally. What we don't often realize is with taking steps and the support of a professional, it is possible to break free of them and live life with purpose and satisfaction.

Anxiety Therapists
What are the most common treatments for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.
How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.
How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
