People seek therapy at vulnerable moments in their lives. Developing a space of safety is primary and it is important to me to hold this in mind as we begin. My primary role is to listen, and listen closely, though I work in an interactive fashion. I seek to help my patients develop self- compassion as they begin to consider aspects of their lives and experiences that have been kept "out of bounds". I am comfortable working with problems of mood, anxiety, relationships, work life and parenting issues.
I consulted for 12+ years in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. I have deep experience working with the emotional challenges surrounding infertility, pregnancy, post partum adjustment, parenting and perinatal loss. I also have special interest in the various effects on the family of prematurity and pediatric illness and developmental disability.
