You put everyone else first, replay or rehearse conversations, say yes when you want to say no, and are hard on yourself. Then the resentment builds, and it comes out as a blowup or a shutdown. Then you feel awful about it, and the loop starts again. I help anxious people pleasers tired of their emotions running the show learn how to take back control, get heard and do what's right for them by getting curious about why they are stuck, addressing the root of the issues and collaborating on creative problem solving. My clients are overthinkers, anxious, people pleasers, self-aware, empaths, ADHDers, or suspect they could have ADHD.
Sustainable change includes mind AND body. I use IFS/Parts Work & Somatic Experiencing to get to the core of understanding you and helping you shift your behaviors. If you've ever felt anger 0-60, shut down from overwhelm, or get stuck in anxiety you can't shake off - somatic/body work holds the key to understanding why and to change behavior intentionally.
Whether you're new to therapy or have been in it for a while, I'll gently challenge and guide you at a pace, and with tools, tailored to you.
