If your teenager is experiencing lack of focus, motivation or of self-esteem or is facing challenges, including differences with parents, relationship issues, feelings of belongingness, bullying, handling social issues at school, concerns about their career, academic pressures, has undergone some form of trauma, loss, dealing with parents divorcing, I use techniques to empower them to be a problem solver in any area of life.
My approach is simple and personalized where students take full responsibility to plan and work on a time bound achievement of goals while completely depending on what is in their circle of control.
I focus with them on the art of communication, self-advocacy, creating boundaries, the power of positivity and sense of humor. We talk about healthy coping mechanisms. I use Solution-Focused Therapy to create SMART goals with them and also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help identify and challenge their negative automatic thoughts.
I am also committed to counseling women, particularly South Asian women, who navigate unique cultural and personal challenges. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where individuals can explore their feelings and work toward meaningful solutions. I look forward to being a part of your journey towards healing and personal growth.
