I work with clients struggling with recovery from drugs and or alcohol. I see clients that have loved ones that have lost control over their use. Some clients are sober, but stuck in other areas and seek consultation for 2nd and 3rd stage recovery. My practice treats common issues related to substance-use disorder, including: gambling disorder, anxiety, cognitive distortions, shame, low self-esteem, guilt, fear and anger. Individuals, couples and families are all welcome. High-school, and college students that need counseling and case management to keep up or re-engage academics or sports will be right at home in my space.
I do prevention, evaluations, psycho-education, early intervention, talk-therapy, recovery management, BSP and adherent DBT. I offer case-management for a flat monthly fee (guidance counselors, admissions counselors, and attorneys). I am certified in Illinois by the IC & RC as a CRADC, and licensed in Tennessee by the Board of Health as a LADAC-II.
I've been in the field since 2007. I've held clinical and leadership positions at 4 recovery centers, and facilitated some complex interventions. I bring a healthy mix to the practice. My methods are eclectic, person-centered and warm. The client relationship is the most important aspect of therapy.
